I've frequently heard that it's easier for shy or less assertive men to date in Asia. Or that it's easier for foreigners to date in Asia. Based on what I've read about how traditional these cultures are, I have an extremely hard time believing this.
Is it true?

It's really easy for foreigners to date in Japan--especially men. Westerners, especially--the more Aryan, the better (I hate to say it, but it's true)--have a huge 'exotic appeal' to many Japanese, especially in the younger generations.
Though this isn't necessarily true for all, many women of the younger generations have gotten bolder, and it's by and large acceptable for girls to pursue guys. (Many of these same young women bemoan the lack of confident, assertive "knights in shining armor". But they date the shy guys anyways.) So I can imagine it wouldn't be too difficult for a shy guy to date.

So is it really easier for Western men to date in Japan?
I've never been to Asia, but I've heard that it's easier for western men to date in Japan for various reasons. This doesn't make sense to me. How can such a relationship exist if so few Japanese speak English? I'd also imagine that not many foreigners in Japan are that fluent in Japanese.
