Is it fine to brake my word since i was in my emotional state and demand for a child support from him?

Actually i would just like to ask what should i do with my situation lately that caused me a big stress! I am an office clerk, single, currently two months pregnant, the father is an old British guy who lives here in Manila for almost 20 years but constantly going abroad to work for every other month and we had been dating since November 2008. He had been married to a Filipina before, got legally separated already for ten years and he had two kids in his custody ever since. He is working in a Texas based oil mining company as manager and the oil rig they usually mine is here in Southeast Asia, like in Malaysia or Myanmar.
We argued regarding my pregnancy because he really wanted me to abort the baby because he said he was not yet ready to have another child and still want to know me more. That time i was so hurt and frustrated for he give a feeble excuse to chose between him and the child, it also appears to me as an emotional blackmail. Then told him that even if he don't want the child I am carrying, i will push through my pregnancy and i gave my word that i wont bother him regarding of this since i had my friends and family to support me! But later i had a second thought that it would still be hard to be a single mom even i will receive help from family and friends, since it takes two to conceive a child!
